FACT 1: Kenny changed his name to Kenney because he was getting mistaken for Kenny Dalglish - famous footy player in the UK in the late seventies...noticed the similarity?
FACT 2: The hairdresser bit comes from the fact that he used to back comb Rod and Ronnies pubes before each show - with his teeth.

never heard the Kenny Dalglish story before, bizarre!! don't know how adding an e is gonna stop him being mistaken tho' !! I'd always assumed he did it cos he wanted a bit of attention from the management,an excuse to get him in papers a bit more as all the attention was on Rod.

Much as I like Bri's theory the boring reason he's known as the hairdresser is pure and simply because that Barnet of his and his dress sense reminds everyone (cept Bri) of yer classic 70's hairdresser ,a touch of the warren beaties in shampoo if you will !!

i. don't know - doubt if he's into numerology for it to make a difference

ii. his hair ALWAYS looked and looks immaculately groomed. My guess is that Steve Marriott might have started that one. It's unlikely to have been about backcombing his hair 'cos if you looked at the rest of the band, their hair looked a little wild and probably all backcombed their hair to get it to stand on end the way it did in the Faces. I'd bet money on it being that Kenney never had even one hair out of place, and still doesn't.
