Here's Julie's story of
meeting up with Mac and Kenney to get her CD signed (above)
"Got to HMV later than
planned courtesy of British Rail's cancelled trains. I really didn't
know what to expect as to what time people would start arriving, but got
there just after 6, and wished I'd got there much sooner as there was a
crowd. At the back of the store was a large screen showing old Small
Faces footage, and the music was blaring- fantastic! It was a party
atmosphere, which really got going when Mac & Kenney walked
onto the raised platform where the signing took place. Much cheering
& clapping, and it got very hot! They both looked great and happy to
be there.
It seemed to take so long
for the first few people to move through, & it was over an hour
before the first line was gone- I was getting very frustrated, as
it was so slow- but obviously everyone wanted their time
with the boys!! and, anyway, the music was so good we didn't mind!
As my turn came, 'Itchycoo
Park' was playing, and I could hardly speak, but Mac said 'Hi' and
we got on just fine from there. Both the new CD and my 'Long Player' got
signed and we had a little chat about the 'Bump Band' DVD I'd bought.
Mac used to live in Hounslow, near where I live now, so he
remembered my Email to Macspages. I left HMV feeling like I'd met up
with two very dear friends who I hadn't seen for a long time! Thanks so
much to both of you xxx"
