Oh, and I heard Faces did some gigs, too. 20 Jul 2011 As you see, there is a new promotion on this site giving a substantial discount to those who order Genesis Publications' new limited edition book, Faces 1969-1975. Click here for more information, or go directly to Genesis Publications' website to order now. 19 Jul 2011 Happy Birthday to the Last Bandit, Nikki Sudden. 15 Jun 2011 Today, BBC Radio London's Robert Elms Show (94.9) ran a 30 minute piece about Ronnie Lane, with Russel Clarke detailing where his all-too-brief life and career took him, literally. It's available as an online stream for a full week. Go here to listen, as it's well worth it. The piece about Ronnie starts at thirty minutes in. Last night, Mac played at Joe's Pub in NoHo, Manhattan. The gig was videostreamed on Livestream.com, and is available in their archive here. Again, well worth the effort. Published as a signed limited edition with a special foreword by Slash, each finely printed book will be craftsman bound, numbered and – as a mark of authenticity and approval – signed by Ronnie Wood, Ian McLagan and Kenney Jones.
21 Aug 2010 Michael Been, the great singer-songwriter and frontman for The Call, died on the 19th. He's one of the first guys I interviewed, backstage at BBC's Paris Studios. His manager waled in, tossed a box on my lap, and said, "guess what that is?" It was a prototype of the first Rockman amp. Just the night before, I'd been sitting at a tube station, buzzing after a gig and waiting for the last train to E&C, listening to my walkman. I thought, "wow, why cant's you plug a guitar into one of these and play along?" Michael started off playing with bands like Aorta and Lovecraft, alongside other members like Peter Cetera and guys from Cheap Trick. He fronted Fine Wine with remnants of one of my favorite bands, Moby Grape. He then formed The Call, a band that got "heavy rotation", as they say, but never reaped the rewards of their talent. He'd continued as a solo performer, as well as helping with his son's band, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. While touring with them, he collapsed backstage of a heart attack at Belgium's Pukkelpop festival. If you've not heard his work, do yourself a favor. 19 Aug 2010 The entire site is moving to yet another server. During the next few hours (up to 72, depending on how lazy your ISP is), the forum may appear to be closed. Feel free to post if it allows you, as no data will be lost. 12 Aug 2010 The Faces Forum is back up. Actually, the site's server went offline permanenty, which conincided brilliantly with the first catastrophic disk failure I've suffered in years. Therefore, we lost a few weeks of posts and new members on the board. Otherwise, the site and forum are peachy-damned-keen. 1 June 2010 The Faces Forum is back up. 31 May 2010 The Faces Forum is down!! After six hours, it went offline. The unexpected spike in traffic nearly knocked the whole site offline, so I've disabled the board and am moving to a larger server. I've got a few tricks up my sleeve, so it'll be back in a day or two. 27 May 2010 The Faces Forum is back! After three years, it's fixed. The address is the same (see the "forum" link above), as are usernames and passwords. Email or PM me with any troubles. 26 May 2010 Here's a nice interview bit between the BBC, Kenney, and Ronnie, concerning the reunion: link to BBC 25 May 2010 The Faces Reunion is on!
More info, including box office info, to follow. Official T-shirts? 23 May 2010 The counter is working! Six hours straight! The count is way off, but after 10 years and far more servers, I'm surprised I could get it working at all. Somebody please help me fix the phpBB forum. It really was the voice of the site. Also, to those whom submitted links and material to me in the past few months, please email me again. I lost months of emails in this technodrama. 22 May 2010 Slowly recovering lost data from the server move. Search capability is now restored (the search box is on the bottom of the page). Anybody want to help fix the Forum? I need someone skilled at fixing/updating phpBB. Contact me. Please. 20 May 2010 The site has changed servers recently, which resulted in the loss of recent updates. Reunion recap, recent news, and more on the way.
